Back in the studio!

We've been a bit quiet on the live performance front of later, but have been rehearsing hard behind the scenes and we are pleased to report that we have returned to Oakdown Studios with B.L. Underwood to start work on our as yet untitled fourth CD. Continuing on the theme of The World Is Watching it will be a full "electric" production with an extended line up revisiting some of the tunes from 1st XI plus a number of choice new acoustic songs. Watch this space for updates and perhaps the odd sneak preview.....

Summer 2009

Seems a while ago now, but we had a great time playing our full electric set to headline the second day of the Eastbourne Lammas Festival. Probably the best to date, this year's festival entertained several thousand people over the course of the weekend and raised over £1300 for the RNLI. Porvari are proud to support this worthy cause and we'll be back in 2010 for the festival's 10th anniversary.
Photos of us in action at the festival can be found here

The acoustic version of Porvari have also been in action supporting another worthy cause in the shape of the Eastbourne Underground Theatre's new season open day... Playing a set of Porvari classics to an appreciative crowd we made some new fans and hope to return to the UGT next year for our annual May gig.

The World is Watching

Our latest CD, The World Is Watching, continues to get the thumbs up from those who have heard it.

We'd love to hear what you thought, please drop us a note via our new contact form

The World Is Watching features ten original Sam Whimpenny songs meticulously arranged by Sam and Simon and for the first time featuring a number of guest musicians and a lot of hard work from B. L. Underwood on programming and production. Already described by those who have heard it as “an amazing change of sound”, for this CD we have kept the acoustic guitars and mandolins but tapped deeper into our rock influences with the addition of drums, keyboards and electric guitars. 6 of the ten new tracks have been uploaded in their entirety to our My Space site

The CD is currently available at live performances or direct from us, please use our contact form for details and watch this space for details of availability in high quality MP3 format via iTunes
